All my life I was taught about the Food Pyramid and how milk 'Does a Body Good.' Now I'm trying to figure things out for myself. In January of 2007, I began a vegan diet and mid-2008 I started incorporating more raw foods. I'm interested in fitness and the 'Myths of Protein' as well.

Do you have one or two foods you recommend trying first? I'm looking for simple substitutions.

Sure, Avocados are pretty incredible and can be added to any salad or eaten on their own. Also, look into young Thai coconuts. They have water in them that is super sweet and full of electrolytes. The meat is also much thinner and sweeter than regular brown (old) coconuts. Be sure you have a cleaver to get into them, because they are hard!

If you're new to raw foods. This guy has several great articles where he heavily documented his raw foods experience. http://www.stevepavlina.com/blog/2008/02/raw-food-diet/
