New drug treats the most common heart failure symptoms quickly and safely – but does not improve life expectancy

Each year about a million Americans are hospitalized with heart failure. Most of those patients go to the hospital because they feel like they can’t breathe, and because their bodies swell up with fluid. A new drug may make those patients more comfortable, and fast. But it won’t help them live longer.
