This video answers a common question that patients often ask about cataract surgery: "How does the lens implant stay in place after cataract surgery?"

During Cataract Surgery the cloudy natural lens (cataract) is replaced by a clear man made lens.

Patients have choices about what kind of lens implant to use. A patient can choose a standard monofocal lens implant, an astigmatism correcting lens implant ( toric implants), or a presbyopia correcting lens implant (that improves distance and near vision with less dependence on glasses).

This video shows some of the major steps of cataract surgery with examples of different kinds of lens implants being placed in the capsular bag.

This video is presented by Dr. Ahad Mahootchi, Cataract and Crystalens Expert, of The Eye Clinic of Florida.
