National Nutrition Month® is a nutrition education and information campaign sponsored annually by the American Dietetic Association. The campaign is designed to focus attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

"As many people know, March is National Nutrition Month. However, we don't have to panic about making dramatic changes in our eating habits. There are four ways that you can incorporate small changes in your diet that can have big health payoffs," says Julie Upton, nationally registered dietitian and health communications expert specializing in nutrition, fitness and wellness.

Informative video. However, I firmly believe there is no healthier option than drinking water and consuming fresh vegetables, fruit and/or meat. Canned vegetables can contain a large amount of sodium and meat can contain harmful additives/preservatives, so you always need to make sure you read the labels before purchasing anything.

The reason that canned veggies are not near as healthy for you as fresh or frozen is because of the amount of sodium that is used in the canning process, the other reason is because of the use of preservatives. When ever you can eat fresh veggies they are your best bet, but frozen are a close second.

I agree....I've heard canned vegetables are just not the same because all of the nutrients have been lost in the process of putting them in cans.

Hmmm....you say that canned vegetables are just as nutritious as frozen or fresh vegetables??? Then why am i hearing from everywhere else that canned veggies actually have the least nutritional value out of the 3? Where are you getting your facts?
